What is the best AI video generator now that Sora is gone?
OpenAI closed the Sora app on April 26, 2026 and its API on September 24, 2026. Our #1 is Google's Veo 3.1 and Gemini Omni Flash (in Flow) for photoreal shots with native audio. The Veo 3.1 preview endpoints in the Gemini API shut down on October 22, 2026; the API model is now Gemini Omni Flash. Kling 4.0 is best for long single-pass shots up to 30 seconds, and Runway Gen-4.5 for professional delivery formats and editing.
